ABS-CBN wins @ Star Awards

Channel 2 ABS-CBN collected the max. number of nominations and the max. number of award also, during the 23rd Star Awards for TV held by the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) on Sunday. ABS-CBN collected 26 stars, and that made the channel on the top at that function.
PMPC President Roldan Castro declined to comment on any station rivalry, saying instead that the objective of the club is to acknowledge good Filipino programs, and that although there is a trend towards bringing in franchise shows, the group sticks to honoring the good homegrown shows.
Tiger Woods will not play at World Challenge

LOS ANGELES: Injuries sustained in a one-car accident last week will prevent Tiger Woods from playing in this week’s Chevron World Challenge tournament, the world’s number one golfer announced on Monday. In a statement on his website, Woods said that he would return to action next year. The World Challenge, to benefit his charity foundation, was set to begin on Thursday in suburban Los Angeles.
“I am extremely disappointed that I will not be at my tournament this week,” Woods said. “I am certain it will be an outstanding event and I’m very sorry that I can’t be there.”
