Data at the Speed of Light? LED Wireless Networking Project Reaches WiFi-Crushing Speeds

A Siemens research project has recently broken the record for wirelessly transmitting data, by making use of white LEDs (light-emitting diodes) instead of radio waves. Siemens researchers here able to transmit data at 500Mbps, beating the previous record of 200Mbps, and completely obliterating current WiFi standards (though upcoming WiFi standards could push it into Gigabit territory).
Siemens researchers used Ostar LEDs, one of the brightest LEDs on the market. The lights are modulated at a frequency that allows for high-speed data transfers. On the other end is a photodetector that receives the light signals and converts them into electrical pulses.

Americans are angry and frustrated!?!

A day after completing a year in White House, US President Barack Obama feels that he has neglected his direct connect with the American people who he says are “angry and frustrated”. As he absorbed a stinging blow from the voters, Obama admitted that his getting embroiled in tackling a flurry of crises had weakened his bond with the people.
And this is the reason, Obama feels for the surprise victory of a Republican candidate to a Senate seat held for almost five decades by Edward Kennedy, a Democrat.

Facebook – McAfee will collaborate for Security

The social networking sites are here to set future trends. In a very significant announcement top social networking site, Facebook and Internet Security and Antivirus solutions provider, McAfee have announced a collaboration to work together. Facebook has a user base of 350 million users. McAfee will be providing a free subscription of its Internet Security Suite software to the Facebook users for six months.
The two companies will jointly work to create solutions like Security software, a custom scanning and repair tool and education material. These tools will be available as free downloads or at discounted prices to Facebook users.
